Au Plantier, a modern-style villa located in the South of France, was originally built in 1980 and bought by Caroline & Mervyn Jones in 1995. Since then it has been renovated to a very high standard. The holiday accommodation has two double bedrooms both fitted with double beds, a pleasant south-facing lounge, a large dining kitchen and a bathroom with shower. The villa enjoys south and west-facing terraces both set in a large garden. It is always a great pleasure to welcome guests to enjoy a relaxing trouble-free holiday at Au Plantier. However, if it is the high-life that is wanted then this holiday is totally unsuitable.
The villa is located near to Avignon & Nimes. Provence, the Cevennes, the Ardeche & the Camargue are all close at hand. It is an outstanding area of natural beauty with the added benefit of enjoying reasonably reliable warm and sunny weather. July & August invariably are very hot but given the insulation installed in the holiday accommodation and with use of the 36' x 18' swimming pool, guests will be able to keep quite cool. On a related note, in 2001 solar heating was installed to the pool to extend the comfortable swimming season and in 2005 the pool was converted to salt water.
Travel to Au Plantier is easy by road, rail or air. It is about a nine-hour drive from Calais. The fast train (TGV) and the Autorail trains stop at Avignon & Narbonne. Montpellier (1hr5m) and Marseilles (lhr48m) airports are nearby. Nimes airport (Ryanair flights from Stansted and Liverpool) and railway station are less than an hour's drive away.
The choice on holiday can be one of total relaxation by the pool, watching booted eagles soar overhead or visiting interesting and varied places in what was Roman France. Caroline & Mervyn have lived here for eleven years but have barely scratched the surface. However, it has to be said that a car is needed to get the best out of the area.
